Heating System Leaking
Now is the time to have your heating system checked and serviced to make sure it is in top condition for the winter. It’s also a good idea to run the system for a few hours to make sure everything continues to work properly. You should check the radiators are working properly with no cold sections. If the top of the radiator is cold you probably have an air lock which needs to be released.
Cold sections or a radiator not heating up could be as a result of residue in the system clogging up the radiator. You may need to have your plumber check it out as the radiator will need to be flushed out or replaced.
It’s also prudent when you start up the system to look out for drips or leaks as leaks often manifest themselves after the system has been idle for long periods over the summer.
A leak can cause severe damage if unattended and may result in an insurance claim.
